Description

MSP Practitioner(Managing Successful Programs) is an extension of the MSP Foundation. At the practitioner level, you need to demonstrate that you have understood and can apply what you have learned.

MSP an international framework for managing and leading complex change initiatives. MSP is a certification in program management. Program management is a collection of strategically connected projects that, through effective program management, all lead to a desired strategic situation for the company. In other words, it’s a transformation. Therefore, the MSP Practitioner certification is highly relevant for change management and change leaders. The key to delivering successful programs on time and on budget is solid and good management – MSP® is one of the world’s most widely used and recognized methods for doing just that. Based on best practice experience, MSP is designed to be easily customizable to different needs and circumstances. The MSP Practitioner videos are in English and the materials and exams are in English.

Mentorix recommends MSP to all project managers who want to improve understanding at the strategic level. Where projects are about delivering products and services, MSP is about delivering strategic initiatives set out by senior management.

The purpose of the course

The purpose of the MSP Practitioner is to gain sufficient knowledge and understanding of the MSP Guide to apply the guide to your own work and function as an informed member of a program management team. That is, a person responsible for managing, leading, supporting or advising on work within an MSP environment. You will be able to apply the MSP guide in a relatively uncomplicated program in an environment that uses MSP®.

Who is this course for?

Our MSP Practitioner course is relevant for people who already have a Foundation exam and want to understand the methodology at a deeper level.

These may include, for example, program managers, program owners, change managers, as well as staff in program and portfolio offices. MSP is suitable for anyone who works with strategic initiatives in the company.

Prerequisites

The prerequisite for attending the course is that you are currently working on or have passed the MSP Foundation. However, before taking the exam, you must have passed the MSP Foundation.

Antony della Porta, MBA, GPM-m and a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting, has over 30 years’ experience of working in project rescue and consultancy roles in major verticals such as Finance, Travel, Media and Pharmaceuticals. He is also an established consultant and instructor in delivering courses in Project Management methodologies, (PRiSM™, PRINCE2®, AgilePM®, SP2 and SAPM) and general Project Management and courses relevant to the delivery and realization of business strategy.

40 marks required to pass – 50%
Two-and-a-half hours’ duration
Open book exam. Candidates may use the official printed hard copy of the Managing Successful Programmes Guide. The manual may be annotated and tabulated but no sticky notes and loose leaf papers containing additional notes will be allowed.
